Rupesh Nair Should I get ARV as well?
Rishabh Singh Not needed. Only once the puppy is 3 months old they start creating rabies virus, by then you'll have to vaccine your puppy for the same. So you are safe.
Rupesh Nair Okay i just get the TT shot
Rupesh Nair π real tattoo π.
Mine too βΊοΈ
Rishabh Singh Yes. Ideally, U need to get ARV even if your dog is vaccinated. (Im a doctor)
Least u can do is wash the wound with running soap water for 10 mins and dont squeeze the area and make sure your dog doesnt lick the area
Nothing to worry.... Just clean the bite area with soap and warm water

My 65 days old lab puppy bit my 2 1/2 year old kid and blood came. My kid started vomiting and loose stools. I was highly worried. When i went to give his (puppy) shot on the very next day, doctor told not to worry. It wont cause any infection as the spot has been cleaned with soap and running water. I was very much worried, as my puppy is parvo recovered one. Doctor told not to worry.
So no need to worry. We, adults have high immunity when compared to kids.

Sandhiya Aravinth Ok thanks π
You don't need an anti-rabies shot because the cut isn't deep. Wash the cut with soap and apply an anti-bacterial like neosporin on the area. This happened to me two days ago and I spoke to Berkeley's vet and my GP and they both said I don't need a shot.
As for tetanus, it's best to get one anyway if you haven't gotten one in the past few years because nicks and bites will be a common occurance.
